Cool Desert Night Show

It is hard to believe, but this was our 9th year at the Cool Desert Nights show.   In the years past we heard from folks walking through that our display is one of the main reasons they go to the show.  This year we heard it said even more.  And I have to admit it was a good display.  We had a nice mix of antique restored, vintage original, and vintage restored snowmobiles on display.  To make the day even better the weather was near perfect; warm but with a good breeze all day.

For this year’s People’s Choice Award there were over 165 votes cast by the public for their favorite sled.  This year it was a close right up to the end between first and second place finishers.  In the end it was Dick Feil’s 1966 Arctic Cat 460D that came out on top to win a trophy and a cash award.  This is the same sled that won the Western States Vintage Snowmobile Association’s (WSVSA) Vintage Snowmobile of the Year award for 2018.  Dick needn’t had to worry too much about winning People’s Choice award.  It was his 1966 Penney’s Foremost that was the close second place finisher with only 5-votes behind.  Congratulations Dick!  Those are both great sleds worthy of all the attention and recognition.
